Interview to Michele Palma

“OUR MAIN COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE IS THE FLEXIBILITY AND OUR ABILITY TO CUSTOMISED PRODUCTIONS”
 
Trueto the triennial appointment with Interpack, the greatest exhibition for the packaging industry in the world, Amec envasgraf, the Spanish Association of Machinery for Packing, Packaging, Bottling, Cardboard and its Graphics, takes part in it once again with a stand from which it will give support to different Spanish companies betting on cornering international markets. We discussed about this with Michele Palma, President of this Association and Managing Director of Synchrogroup.
 
INFOPACK: We know the main purpose of Amec envasgraf is supporting companies in the internationalisation and innovation areas. Which lines of work would you highlight from your time as President?
MICHELE PALMA: Time runs and it will soon be two years since I took the presidency of the Association. Indeed we focus on internationalisation: a greater support to companies for their internationalisation processes and the increase of their presence in foreign markets. However, we also have other great lines of work such as increase networking and the collaboration between associated companies or support them in the new challenges of the industry: dimension, talent, industry 4.0, digitalisation, sustainability…
 
IP: AMEC envasgraf carefully prepared its participation in this edition of Interpack. Which actions will the Association develop during this exhibition and how would you define the Spanish participation?
MP: A total of 87 Spanish companies will take part in this edition of Interpack. AMEC envasgraf coordinates and promotes the participation of 25 Spanish companies in this exhibition. Among the activities we organise during the event I would highlight the help to get space in the exhibition, the advice for contracting supplies, the coordination of logistic services, especially concerning decoration and transport, follow up of assembly and dismantling, elaboration of press releases, creation of a Landing Page with delivery to distributors, sales representatives, end buyers, product associations, magazines, etc, and advertising in the exhibition facilities and networking among participants.
 
IP: As we can see, the promotion of export is one of the priorities of AMEC envasgraf. How important is Interpack within this strategy?
MP: Interpack is the most important exhibition in the world within the packing and packaging sector and of course it is an inescapable date for the companies in our association. We await this date every three years to show our equipments and our latest technological developments. It is the perfect scenario for meeting customers, sales representatives and distributors coming from countries all over the world and share with them projects, trends and concerns, and for that we prepare and design our participation well in advance.
